Abstract (EN)
One of the main characteristics of today's international migration movements that more women migrate than in the past, that is the feminisation of migration. Women voluntarily or forcefully leave their countries of origin because of global poverty, patriarchal social structures, concerns about war and conflict. Women live different experiences than men in the migration decisions, roads and post-migration. In all of this process, women are oppressed within the family, exposed to violence, to sexist attitudes in the labour market and at the center of the plans of human trafficking organizations. While international migration leads to major changes in the modes of living of individuals and societies, it is impossible for states not to be involved in this process. Moreover, the fact that women and men have different experiences in migration processes requires the adoption of a gender sensitive integration policy.
