Investigation of the nutrient levels of Gökçekaya Dam Lake sediment

The quality values of the sediment of Gökçekaya Dam Lake established over Sakarya river was reviewed and its pollution profile was tried to be detected by this project. The study area has a characteristic distinguishing from the studies carried out previously. This dam lake takes place between two dam lakes over Sakarya river; the main stream feeding the lake comes from Sarıyar dam lake. By this study, the change in the natural systems in sediment of Gökçekaya dam lake which has a different entry water feature from other dam lakes were reviewed from the aspect of nutrients .Within the scope of the research, samples were taken on seasonal basis during the field studies planned for a period of 1 year. Samples were taken from 5 stations determined upon the preliminary feasibility study on Gökçekaya dam lake.With this content, the project will enable that many studies carried out for several lakes in our country are handled within one lake and carried out collectively.In the long term, this study will ensure development of an applicable systematic for the monitoring studies carried out in our country and detection of the parameters that may be indicators for establishing the recipient environment standards which we haven?t been bale to organize yet in these days we are in the course of participating in the European Union.This project, it was ensured to determine the lacking sediment quality in order to enable that the water quality change of Gökçekaya dam lake is completely interpreted and that the current condition is clearly revealed.Thus, the current quality of Gökçekaya dam lake have been thoroughly review and it will be a reference for similar studies in our country in terms of its methodology.
