Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of grape seed oil (Vitis vinifera) on growth performance, antioxidant enzyme activity, blood parameters, fatty acid composition and liver histology of rainbow trout (Oncorhyncus mykiss) juveniles. Grape seed oil was added to commercial diets of rainbow trout at 250 mg/kg, 500mg/kg and 1000 mg/kg doses. Feeding was lasted 60 days. At the end of the study, there were significant differences with respect to final weights of fish. Although the difference was not significant between control and 500 mg/kg group (P>0.05), It was significantly lower in the 250mg/kg and higher in the 1000 mg/kg dose groups. Similar results were observed on live weight gains. Although the highest SAF value was determined from the control group, the differences were not significant compared to the other groups. MUFA and n3 was also similar in all experimental groups compared to control. In all experimental groups, white muscle, palmitic acid (C 16:0), SFA (C 18: 1n-9), DHA (C 22:6n-3) were the most common fatty acids. EPA values from all treatment groups were significantly higher than that of the control. DHA was determined the highest in control group compared to other experimental groups, but the difference was not significant. Crea, bun, LDH, Na, K, Cl, Trig, Ca and Phos was similar in all experimental groups. Urea was significantly decreased in 250 mg/kg group. TP and AST significantly increased in 1000 mg /kg group. All of the antioxidant activity values determined from the 1000 mg/kg group were relatively higher than that of the other experimental groups. Liver cell deformations was not observed from all of the experimental groups. It is concluded that using 1000 mg/kg grape seed oil as natural feed additive in rainbow trout diets might be advised Keywords: Trout, Garpe seed oil, Growth, Antioxidant, Fatty acid, Blood parameters.
