Abstract (EN)
This thesis study investigates the problems caused by atmospheric haze, particularly those related to the presence of haze, in Göktürk-1 satellite images. The haze removal process, carried out using the ATCOR atmospheric correction method provided by PCI Geomatica software, successfully reduced atmospheric disturbances and significantly improved the quality of the images. After atmospheric correction, high-resolution orthophoto production was performed using the Ortho Engine module of PCI Geomatica. This step allowed for the acquisition of images that were free of haze effects, georeferenced, and accurate. The resulting orthophoto provides a reliable data source for use in geographic information systems (GIS) applications, land analysis, and various remote sensing projects. The thesis also examines in detail the image enrichment process carried out in the Mosaic Tool interface of PCI Geomatica. Mosaic Tool is a tool used to combine multiple images and create a higher quality image. This step allowed for a more in-depth analysis of the data obtained from the orthophotos and significantly improved the image quality. This thesis work presents in detail the steps applied to effectively remove atmospheric disturbances in Göktürk-1 satellite images and add value to the obtained data. In addition, emphasis is placed on the practical applications of the methods used, the importance of the results obtained, and how these processes can be used in areas such as geographic information systems, agriculture, and environmental monitoring. This study emphasizes the potential of a comprehensive methodology for atmospheric correction in the field of remote sensing and aims to contribute to future research in this area.
