Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, it is aimed to determine the insectivorous feeding characteristics, the effect on zooplankton and some biochemical nutrient components of Utricularia vulgaris L. (bladderwort) species, which is distributed in Gölhisar Lake, which is one of the important wetlands of the Lakes Region and is a shallow and densely planted freshwater ecosystem. For this purpose, plant and zooplankton samples taken from two stations selected on the lake in the period covering June-October 2020 were examined. In our laboratory studies, a total of 1000 traps, 10 traps taken from ten different plants representing each station, were opened under the microscope in each sampling period; The species identification of the prey organisms in the trap was made and their densities were determined. In the same period, the zooplankton content of the lake water was determined both qualitatively and quantitatively. As a result of the investigations, a total of 73 taxa were determined, 43 Rotifera, 20 Cladocera and 10 Copepoda representing zooplankton, except for protozoa such as Euglena and Arcella, which are very dense in U. vulgaris traps. In the same period, a total of 40 taxa were identified, 20 Rotifera, 14 Cladocera and 6 Copepoda representing the lake. The fact that the number of taxa determined in the trap content is higher than the lake shows that this plant is very effective in hunting. Other hunting groups other than general zooplankton groups were determined as representatives of Collembola, Hydracnidia, Ephemeroptera, Tardigrada, Nematoda, Diptera and other insecta members. Rotifera group 0.67±0.29 org./trap, representing zooplankton, was the highest in trap contents; Cladocera, Copepoda and Ostracoda groups showed an equal distribution (0.54±0.21, 0.54±0.14, and 0.54±0.23 org./trap, respectively). The months of June and July were the group with the most hunting. The months of June and July were the periods when the trapes contained the most prey. The average prey organism density per trap was 2.79 organisms over the entire study period. The months of June (3.21 org./trap) and July (3.70 org./trap) were the months in which the most prey was caught (P<0.05). Based on the findings, it was seen that the prey preferences of the species were quite wide in terms of size and diversity. It has been determined that every aquatic organism is included in the catch list of the species, if the size is appropriate. Statistical analyzes did not reveal the existence of a significant relationship between the prey contents of the trapes and the zooplankton interaction between the lake water (P>0.05). Biochemical analyzes showed that the plant has high ash and cellulose content. Raw ash, which is the basic nutrients of the plant, is 30.65-33.99%; crude oil 1.61-1.78%; crude protein was determined in the range of 7.82-15.41% and crude fiber was determined in the range of 8.45-21.35%. It has been observed that these values create a potential in terms of animal nutrition. The findings and results of this study are important in that it is the first research on the purse prey content of Utricularia taxa distributed in the freshwater lakes of Turkey. Its effects on fisheries and its potential to be used in the economic field need to be investigated with a more comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach.
