Abstract (EN)
St37 quality steels have very common usage areas in almost all kinds of sectors as automotive and construction materials. The main reason for this is the degree of performance and cost. In this study, it is aimed to examine the corrosion mechanism of St37 steel under different conditions in three stages. These stages are respectively; the corrosion mechanism of electro galvanized or non-galvanized steel, the corrosion mechanism under the influence of acid rain and the corrosion mechanism of hot-dip galvanized St37 steel were investigated. Behaviors of St37 steel against corrosion in the three-stage experimental study; Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), Potentiodynamic Polarization (TP), Open Circuit Potentials (OCP), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy Distribution Spectroscopy (EDS) and Optical Imaging Analysis were investigated using. As a result, the obtained findings were analyzed and compared in detail. Accordingly, it has been observed that hot-dip galvanization and electro-galvanization process increase corrosion resistance and provide more effective protection.
