Abstract (EN)
Today, the importance of engineering project studies in high-speed trains, dams, tunnels, roads and airports is increasing. In these studies, many rock and aggregate tests such as Los Angeles Wear Loss Value, Wear Loss (MgSO4-NaSO4), Uniaxial Compression Test, Brazilian (Indirect Tensile) Test, Point Load Strength and Schmidt Hammer are performed. The aim of this study is to obtain empirical relationships by performing Uniaxial Compressive Strength Test and Fractal Dimension Analysis in Rock, instead of Los Angeles Wear loss test (LAA %), which causes excessive noise during the test phase and requires too many samples for the test. To calculate the Los Angeles Wear Loss value with the help of the determined empirical relationship. Fractal Dimension Analysis, Uniaxial Compressive Strength Test and Los Angeles Abrasion (ASTM C131) tests were performed with Image-Pro Plus program of 13 different rock samples prepared within the scope of this study. The relationship between Fractal Dimension, Uniaxial Compressive Strength and LAA % Empirical relationships obtained using the Datafit program were evaluated. Here, LAA% is the independent variable, Uniaxial Compressive Strength and Fractal Dimension value are the dependent variables. In this equation, the maximum fractal dimension value and the average stress values of the 25mm-19mm sample are used. The difference between the equation and experimental result LAA% value of 13 samples varies between 0.01-0.88. It has been observed that Fractal Dimension Values and Uniaxial Compressive Strength values can be correlated with Los Angeles Abrasion values. In the study, it is recommended to take different types and many rock samples. When similar compatibility is observed, it can be interpreted that the LAA% value can be approximately accurate by using the Fractal Dimension and Uniaxial Compressive Strength data instead of the drum device that gives the Los Angeles Abrasion value. Thus, a new method will be developed in calculating LAA% as a solution to the problems of noise pollution, labor and time loss.
