Abstract (EN)
As the necessity for improvement of multiple literacy is important today, visual literacy has become an obligation with the aim of being read media messages by people and providing active attendance of them in this process. This case leads societies to do research on transformation of communication channels to the visual art and variation of it. Gradually, experience design and applications with a context that is more dimensional, strategical and cognitive have been spared time. In this sense, Information Design is defined as the center of these studies and pulpit of today. Within this framework, aim of the research is to examine the course of Information Design in the curriculum of the departmants of Visual Communication Design and how to apply and improve the projects that are going to be carried out. The study, in which the method of action research is used, has taken its form with the data that is collected in the process of 14 weeks course, Information Design, that was opened as a selective course in fall term of 2015-2016 academic year at the departmant of Visual Communication Design, Dumlupınar University. Participants of the survey consist of 8 students, who select the course of Information Design, domain expert and the instructor as a researcher. In the survey, diaries of students and researchers, video recordings of instructions, semi-structured interviews have been used as a data collection tool. The data of survey has been resolved with the method of thematic analysis and has been benefited from the programme of NVivo 11. Within the context of findings of survey, three main theme has been reached including 'perception of visual communication', 'interdisciplinary approach and 'practice process of information design.'
