Abstract (EN)
Graffiti is one of the most pending branch of art to be analyzed since it is as old as the human history covering the activist acts and its innovator structure holding ethic and esthetic merits of the future. Graffiti usage in visual communication regarding the art for the community will be handled by qualitative research techniques(litarature search, field survey, interview) with various examples in different districts of İstanbul. The relationship of graffiti with the consumption culture will be reviewed by analyzing the messages presented by the graffities in region of Kadıköy, Taksim and Karaköy. Connotations of the graffiti messages will be handled by observing the attitudes of the people where graffities are intensively available. Contacts will be conducted with the graffitists via social media and their comments will be got in respect of graffti's being secret and illegal act. Adventure of the graffiti from a subculture to being a popular culture will be analyzed departing from the conception of the graffiti being an art for society by commenting on the relationship between the graffiti artists who have produced nowadays and in recent past and their products.
