The Visual Arts Lesson Teaching Program (secondary school) and Visual Arts are in the Teacher's Guide Book environmental education

Environmental problems, which are the common problem of the world and threaten health, are increasing with each passing day. In a world where these problems are now seriously felt, environmental education is an important issue to be emphasized. In the Visual Arts class, which is a class that is education is given through art, it is very important that the Visual Arts Course Curriculum (Secondary School) and the Visual Arts Teacher's Guide Book that guides the teachers to be rich in quality and visual. In this study, environmental education was examined in the Visual Arts Course Curriculum (Secondary School) updated in 2018 and the Visual Arts Teacher's Guide Book updated in 2019, and the contributions and deficiencies of the acquirements, images and subjects taken in the curriculum and the book to environmental education were determined. Document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, and Visual Arts Course Curriculum (Secondary School) and Visual Arts Teacher's Guide Book as sources were utilized. In data analysis, content analysis method was used. As a result of the research, it has been concluded that the acquisitions that directly support environmental education in the Visual Arts Curriculum (Secondary School) are insufficient, the learning areas should be redesigned considering environmental education, and environmental education should be included as a separate section in the Visual Arts Teacher's Guide Book. The subject of environmental education should not be limited to the Visual Arts course, but should be included more in the curriculum of other branches and in teacher's guidebooks.
