Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to reveal the effect of literary products on the three-dimensional work of fifth grade students in the visual arts course. In this study, action research, one of the qualitative research designs, was used. The study group of the research consists of 20 fifth grade students studying in a secondary school in the Kayapınar district of Diyarbakır province. While determining the study group of the research, the criterion sampling method, which is one of the purposive sampling methods, was used. While determining the study group within the scope of the research, criteria such as the presence of a ceramic firing oven and work benches in the workshop where the research will be carried out, the students in the study group not having done any work based on legends and manias before, the school administration's support of the process in the execution of the necessary procedures and the support of the students' parents were determined. The research was carried out in the 2019-2020 academic year. In the research, a ten-week application was carried out. Due to the nature of action research, both qualitative and quantitative data collection tools were used together. In the research, the Visual Arts Skin Attitude Scale developed by Aslantaş (2014) was used, and this measurement tool was applied twice before and after the application. Within the scope of the research, a rubric was developed by the researcher to evaluate the work done by the students. With this scoring key, the three-dimensional works of the students every week were evaluated and thus the development of the students was tried to be revealed. The researcher's diary and student diaries were also used in the study. Within the scope of the research, a semi-structured interview form was also developed to determine the views of the students on the activities implemented. Within the scope of data analysis, t-test was used for dependent samples for quantitative data, while content analysis and descriptive analysis were used for qualitative data. According to the findings obtained in the first week of the research, it was determined that the students were not sufficient in subjects such as technical knowledge, three-dimensional expression, giving place to details, composition, balance and creativity. As a result of the activities applied every week within the scope of the research, it was seen that there was improvement in the subjects such as texture richness, creativity, three-dimensional expression and giving place to details. As a matter of fact, when the average scores obtained from the rubric every week are examined, the improvement in students is clearly revealed. In the same way, when we look at the work done by the students in the first week, it is seen that they have deficiencies in three-dimensional expression, texture richness, giving place to details, creativity, composition and balance. When the student diaries used in the research were examined, it was concluded that the students had many problems while doing three-dimensional studies in the first weeks and they developed suggestions for these problems. Towards the last weeks of the study, it was concluded that the students enjoyed doing three-dimensional works, they were happy, their interest increased, their attitudes towards the visual arts lesson improved, and the problems began to decrease during the applications. Various suggestions were made based on the results of the research.
