Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT This study has been realised/done to ask for opinions of special education teachers studying with mentally handicapped individuals regarding ?The Contribution of Visual Art Education On Education of Mentally Handicapped Students? In this study, constructed interview technique that is the one of the interview techniques has been used to get research data and the general datum based inventory constituted in view of the findings got from the research data. The subpurposes of the research are demonstrated with 21 different tables via questions of interview form. According to the research findings, it has been determined that educational degree/situation of special education teachers educating mentally handicapped students are not sufficient about visual art education of mentally handicapped students. When the teachers` opinions are investigated considering application of visual art education curriculum, it is revealed that teachers genarally agree that `the content of curriculum causes some defects during the application?. In addition to, some deficiencies are seen because of that the benefits of art education are not known by the teachers. In the last part of the study, some suggestions for applications considering the findings of the research are put forward.
