Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study, which examines the relationship between the creativity of visual arts teachers and the teaching methods they prefer to use in the teaching process, is to determine the teaching methods used by visual arts teachers working in Samsun and to determine the relationship of the methods they prefer with their creativity. This research has been prepared with the foresight that teachers with high levels of artistic creativity will contribute greatly to the education of students as original and innovative individuals. In order to fulfill the aforementioned contributions, the fact that the teaching methods that can be preferred in the visual arts course that can be used instead of the general teaching methods are suggested within the scope of this study will provide original contributions to the field. This research is a quantitative research and was designed in accordance with the general survey model and the relational survey model. The universe of the research consists of visual arts teachers working in Samsun in the 2021-2022 academic year. The sample group of the research consists of 159 visual arts teachers, 53 male and 106 female, who were selected by sampling easily. A personal information form consisting of 5 questions containing demographic information, a questionnaire consisting of 20 methods of frequency of use of teaching methods and a 50-item Kaufman Scale of Creativity Fields were used. Data was collected on a voluntary basis through Google Forms. The data obtained during the research were transferred to the SPSS program, the findings were tabulated and interpreted. In the findings for the 11 sub-problems of the study, the teachers most frequently used the methods of "question-answer", "lecture", "going from easy to difficult", "brainstorming" and "invention path (research, examination, interpretation and application)". The least used methods are listed as "report preparation and/or presentation", "project supported teaching through presentation", "creative drama", "project design/management" and "field trip". With 99% reliability for the main problem of the research, statistically, it was concluded that there is a positive and moderately significant relationship between the creativity of visual arts teachers and the teaching methods they prefer to use in the teaching process.
