Determination of grape production by image processing method

Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to determine the yield of Michele Palieri, Italy and Mevlana grape varieties by using image processing techniques. The thesis study was carried out in the vineyard area of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Agricultural Application and Research Center. In order to predict the grape yield, images were taken as the grapes matured and before they were harvested. 267 images from the captured images were processed with image processing using the MATLAB Image Processing Toolbox module. As a result of the study, RMSE estimation values for Michele Palieri, Italy and Mevlana grape varieties were found as 4.86, 4.00 and 2.88, respectively. The total RMSE value of 3 grape cultivars was found as (R2>0.9989). Yield estimations on the cultivars were made successfully with the applied method and algorithm. Methods from this study will be studied in future studies. By integrating with machines, systems or robots, human labor, time and economic savings can be achieved.
