Analysis of chaotic maps used in image encryption and suggestion for a hybrid method

Considering today's technologies, it is seen that the most shared data in our daily life is multimedia data. Multimedia data are transmitted to different servers over the network. It is necessary to ensure the security of data on these networks that are open to everyone. The most effective way to prevent data from falling into the hands of unwanted people and to eliminate security problems is the use of encryption techniques. Encryption of data is mostly provided either by cryptographic techniques or by chaotic techniques. Chaotic techniques are mostly used in the process of ensuring the security of image data. With the help of chaotic techniques, the pixels of the image are mixed according to the structure of the chaotic technique, their values are changed or both methods are used together. The increase in multimedia applications and data sharing on mobile devices has allowed scientists to work in the field of image encryption. Image encryption methods have evolved over time, and different techniques have been proposed. Chaotic techniques were used in most of these techniques. In this thesis, the details of the chaotic techniques frequently used in different studies were examined and brought together. In addition, test techniques used in the literature are also included in order to test the reliability of the methods proposed by scientists. In addition, a hybrid method using chaotic techniques has been proposed, and its use in image encryption has been realized. The reliability of the method has been proven by various tests.
