Abstract (EN)

Communication, which is the most important social activity in the history of humanity, has reached a different dimension with developing technologies. So much so that not only among people, but also even electronic devices communication has become common.Recently, Visible Light Communication (VLC) has attracted attention with its efficient and secure communication and low energy consumption. The fact that light emitting diodes (LEDs) can be used simultaneously for two different purposes such as communication and illumination provides a great advantage, especially in confined spaces. In order to take advantage of these advantages, studies on VLC have been intensified compared to other types of wireless communication and continues under many different headings. Modulation, which is one of these topics, is an important issue for data transfer in VLC systems. Even if many different modulation types are used in communication, it is necessary to use Intensity Modulation / Direct Detection (IM / DD) technique because of the nature of light. For this reason, the modulation method to be used should be determined both in accordance with the nature of the light and to ensure efficient communication. In this study, basic information about VLC is mentioned and the modulation types that can be used are examined. Also the system properties for two different modulation types were examined with Optisytem simulation software.
