Synthesis of novel substituted-1,4-naphthoquinones and substituted-1,4-anthraquinones as potential fingermark reagents for the detection of latent fingermarks on porous surfaces

Abstract (EN)
In this study, nucleophilic substition reactions of 2,5,8-tribromo-1,4-naphthoquinone (16) and 2,9,10-tribromo-1,4-anthraquinone (17) were realized within the presence of nucleophile (O-, N-, S-) and base (K2CO3, TEA, DBU) in yield of %10-90. Compounds of 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75 were obtained. The structures of the compounds were confirmed by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, MS and elemental analysis. All this methods confirmed the structure of the compounds. Afterwards, the synthesized compounds were tested for their reactivity as fingermarks. The results were evaluated by Bandey scar. At the end of this evaluation it has been found that the compounds of naphtaquinone derivatives 62, 63, 66 and 68, and the anthraquinone derivatives 72 and 73 are highly effective on the fingerprint development on porous surfaces. 62 and 64 compounds gave the best result on the newspaper. For blue photocopy paper, fingerprints of compounds 62, 64, 66 and 67 of naphthoquinone derivatives and of compounds 70, 74 and 75 of anthraquinone derivatives; for the thermal invoice paper, fingerprints of compounds 62, 63, 65, 66 and 69 of naphthacinone derivatives and of compounds 71 of anthraquinone derivatives may be suggested as reactive.
