Latent class analysis and an application

Generally in the social sciences Latent Class Analyis which takes part in the contex of LatentStructure Analysis is used to disclose latent classes or structures by the manifest variables.In this thesis Urban Culture and Urban Consciousness in Bursa survey is used as the data. Inthe study people who live in Bursa are split into latent classes by the observable variableswhich are effective on determination of belonging to the city.Data set is split into two classes after various latent class models tries by variables which areused in the modeling process. After modeling process dissimilarity analysis is used foridentifying differences between latent classes. Analysis showed that there were differencesbetween people who live in Bursa according to various criteria.
