Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study, secondary school 7. to try to determine whether graphic organizers have an effect on the students' success in writing narrative texts. The research is a semi-experimental study with a pre-test- post-test pattern. The pretest and post-test studies took a total of 8 weeks, including informing the students about the graphic organizers and the application. During the application, while graphic organizers were used in the experimental group, no graphic organizers were used in the control group and the normal coursework process was continued.Graphic organizers were prepared by the researcher and evaluated by 2 Turkish teachers and 2 academicians who are experts in the field of graphic organizers. A 6-week course process was conducted in the experimental group with the prepared graphic organizers. At the end of the process, a story text was printed to the experimental and control group students as a final test. The total texts have been scored according to the scoring guidelines of the editing texts for the story. Then, the pre- and post-test application studies of the experimental and control groups were analyzed statistically. It was revealed that there was a significant difference in favor of the experimental group between the success of the students in the experimental group who used graphic organizers, compared to the control group students who did not use graphic organizers. However, it has been observed that graphic organizers are insufficient to overcome the deficiencies of the students in terms of Page Layout, paragraph creation and spelling rules.
