Importance of writing typography in the secondary school institutions were given education of graphic design and problems faced with the aplication of courses

The main aim of the study is to define the importance of writing typography courses in the secondary schools and to define the problems faced with the application of courses.In order to realize this purpose, the students who has the writing typography courses and the teachers who teach the courses are selected as a sample group in the ten secondary schools in Ankara which have the graphic education.Due to the aim of the research, the survey is prepared due to the critics of experts and the results gathered from the survey which is applied to 204 students and 14 teachers is analysed with the help of SPSS (Statistical Software for Social Sciences) software. The frequencies and percentages of each question in the survey is summarised in tables and critisized with help of graphical presentation. From the results which is finalized by the survey;?According to students typography is important lesson in graphic design.?The institutions which has graphic education do not have enough physical space, instruments and written documents related with the courses.?However the course of writing typology is a common course in the discipline of Graphic and Photography, the education programme of some of the institutions does not cover such lectures.?There are problems which caused by the timing of courses and the insufficient contents of modules.?As the instruments and contents which are used in writing typology courses do not develope paralel to the technological and sectorel growth, there are problems in education of courses. From this reason, there is an negative interaction between the department and sector.In the end of the study, some of the proposals are given due to the problems defined in the study.
