Analysis of illustration on poster design in graphic design

Using illustrations in poster design is one of the creative and unique ways. The power of poster design and illustration plays an active role in graphic design. Many artist continues to benefit from the power of illustration in poster designs with the adbantage of new opportunities that tecnology provides. In this study, benefits of the illustration that has been used in poster designs. Illustration is investigated in the way of message transferring role within graphic language and the location of it in poster designs that is convenient to creative applicaitons. Purpose and importance of this study is defined in introduction, in the first section graphical design and graphical language is defined and in the second section, poster design is examined in detail. In the third section, the develoopment porcess of poster desgin and illustration relationship is studied in the light of developments that is occured in through the graphic design history. Design steps of poster design are facts of transfering a message in the most effective way and with these facts, the situations that play a part in designing a message transferring illustration in poster design are examined. A classification suggestion is provided that is related to message transferring styles of illustration in posters. In the conclusion section, findings, data and applications are provided.
