Social design concept in graphic design and a project proposal

Societal issues such as wars, protests and actions have created sharp breaking points throughout human history. In addition topics such as hunger, global warming, human rights, animal rights, and racism can be cited as secondary factors that have further contributed to the occurrence of these historical breaking points. Volunteer individuals who are part of this process and contribute to the process through volunteerism can be people from any part of the society with any professional competence. The designers, who make up some of the people with this professional competence, are called social designers, and the volunteer-based services they produce are called social design. In this thesis, which was prepared with the title of "Social Design Concept in Graphic Design and a Project Proposal", social design as a concept has been studied together with examples of its connection with graphic design. With this research, it is aimed to create an academic resource that will provide the basic information necessary for graphic designers to produce on social issues by bringing together research within the scope of the basic definitions of the historical process and concept related to social design, graphic design relationship. In the last part of the research, the knowledge and experiences obtained in the previous thesis sections were practiced through a project proposal and a usable social design product was revealed.
