Interaction of graphic design with postmodern art approach

Graphic art, which became independent with industrialization, developed parallel to other art forms. It formed its own tradition in modernization, and in the post-modern period it was completely freed from its chains. It has become an indispensable part of life in the digital age and is exalted by the postmodern sense of art. The works and experimental works produced by the leading art groups using the graphics at the beginning of the 20th century are the early examples of the unity of postmodern art and graphic design. The collage found by dadaists is very important for postmodern graphic design. In the second half of the 20th century, graphics, especially for pop art, are one of the starting points. Most representatives of pop art come from their graphic history. Not only pop, but other art forms of postmodernism often use graphics. The aim of this study is to make its understanding in the postmodern period and its communication with other art forms visible. In this context, in order for our purpose to be understandable, firstly the history of graphic art is mentioned, and then the development process in the modern and postmodern period is mentioned. The fragmentation in the postmodern period is one of the nourishing points of the graphics. This fragmentation pushed the meaning back to the background from time to time, highlighting the artistic structure in the design. Globalization has brought new points of attention to graphic artists. These points, which coincide with the discourse of art and life in the postmodern period, are moral points that are not considered in the modern period. The designer has become responsible for considering minority rights, gender, the concept of immigration or identity when preparing his works.
