Abstract (EN)

The Russian clay which is more expensive to the other abroad clays increases the costof granite production. In this work, cheap clays have been studied on behalf of theRussian clay which is the main raw material in glazed porcelain production..Alternatively to the Russian clay, the MK341 and 102 G clays have been used.First of all, XRD and XRD tests have been applied to raw materials Then thecompositions determined. After determining the physical features, the composition hasbeen determined.The tests have been done in 4 parts:The first group: The amount of Russian clay decreased from % 35 to % 25, % 20 and% 15, but the rate of MK341 clay increased to %13,%18 and %21 in the referredsample.The second group: In referred sample, the amount of Russian clay decreased from%35 to %25 and %20, iınstead of Russian clay, 102G clay has been used with therates of %10 and %15 .The third group: The rate of Russian clay decreased from % 35 to %33, %31 and%26, instead of Russian clay the Soke albite has been increased from %47 to %49,%51 and %56.ivThe fourth group: The Russian clay decreased from %35 to %13, %10 and%9.Instead of Russian clay, the MK341 clay has been used as %21, the S401 clayincreased from %4 to %7 and Magnessium 166 clay increased from %1 to % 2.2007, 76 pagesKeywords: Granite, Russian clay, water absorbtionv
