The investigation area is located in the vicinity of Ekecik Mount in the south of Ortaköy (Aksaray) district. Igneous rocks in the study area was examined under the headings of "Ekecik Magmatic Association" and "Ağaçören Intrusive Suite". In Ekecik magmatic association, the oldest unit is Gökkaya amphibole granodiorite. Haznedar granodiorite is gradually pass through Gökkaya amphibole granodiorite. Sinandı biotite granite was settled by cutting the Gökkaya / Haznedar granodiorite. During the intrusion it has received fragments from the Gökkaya / Haznedar granodiorite. Inside the Sinandı biotite granite, take place light colored magmatic rock enclaves containing garnet minerals. Gelinseki granite cuts Sinandı biotite granite. Sırayalar alkaline feldspar granite and Sırayalar alkaline feldspar granite porphyry, representing the last magmatic phase which cuts all the older aged magmatic units. Sırayalar gabbro, Ekecik hornblende gabbro, and Oluk hill gabbronorite, is take place in The Ağaçören İntrüsive Suite in geochemical analyses, all of the rock samples of Ekecik magmatic association take place in the peraluminous region whereas the rocks belonging to Ağaçören intrusive suite are take place in the metaluminus region on the A / CNK diagram. While the origin of the Ekecik magmatic association are formed by the meta-sedimentary and crustal contribution dominant with less mantle contribution sources, Ağaçören intrusive suite originates from I-type magma having less crustal contribution sources. The study area has remained under the influence of compressional and extensional tectonic regime. Under the effect of the Lower Miocene aged confined tectonic regime, reverse faults and clips developed. Dynamic metamorphic rocks have been formed in the reverse fault planes with the confined tectonic regime developing in the Lower Miocene. These rocks are fault-breccia, micro-breccia, cataclastic and mylonite-type dynamic metamorphic rocks. In the late Pleistocene, under the extensional tectonic regime, normal faults and corresponding horst-graben structures developed.
