An analysis towards determition of signifance levels of reasons efficient in GSM operator preference

The developments occuring in telecommunication sector the largest sub-sector of communications sector provide that the amount and speed of spreading information have increased. The telecommunication sector having social utility from this ascept forms the one of the most important infrastrucutre elements of a country economy. The developmets in this sector play a vital role in growth and development of a country. Mobile enterprises have the lion's share in telecommunication sector. The mobile enterprises operating in Turkish mobile market are AVEA, TURCELL, VODAFONE. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors affecting the choices of the students studying in Bayburt University. For this purpose, service quality, price, advertisement, coverage area, relatives and immediate environment are taken in consideration and the effects of these factors on operator preference are examined. It follows from the study that service quality, price and coverage area are statistically significance on GSM operator preference. Key Words: Telecommunication sector, GSM operator preference
