Abstract (EN)

Keywords: Masonry structure, Performance, Strengthening, Example of masony structre Stone, bricks and similar materials that form masonry structures are called masonry structures. In our country, more masonry structures are encountered especially in rural areas. Traditional and historical buildings are mostly made of masonry. The reason why masonry structures are preferred is that they can simply build from local materials and they are affordable. These types of structures are usually carried out randomly, irrespective of the directives that do not have sufficient knowledge of engineering. The reason for their low ductility is the use of brittle materials, such as bricks and mortar, that form masonry structures. The capacity of masonry structures to consume earthquake energy compared to reinforced concrete structures is very small. Taken up the form of damage to masonry structures that are frequently used in masonry construction, Turkey and the necessary measures must be provided. The world's many countries and Turkey in particular rural areas in masonry structures significantly the use of reason can do simple masonry buildings, evaluation of local building materials, cheap being the materials used are not of masonry structures is done very, very long time. Masonry structures, nowadays construction is gradually decreasing. However, masonry structures are still used. Different from carcass-bearing structures as the building type, the walls of the masonry structures are carriers. In this study, an existing masonry structure has been examined and the study has been carried out. Afterwards, calculations were made whether the structure was risky or not according to the direction of the directive. As a result of these calculations, the structure of the masonry structure is seen as a risky structure. The performance analysis was performed by reinforcing the risky masonry structure and as a result of this performance analysis, the structure no longer falls within the scope of risky structure.
