The eeal effects of the Transition to Strong Economy Turkey's economy program

Turkish economy has been facing in particular periods several financial crises since 1980 when the financial liberalization policies was put into practice. Indecisive steps and wrong practices by finance, public and real sectors led to those crises. After the banking crisis in 2001, the government made a series of structural reform, according to the Agreement with IMF, under the scope of Transition to Strong Economy Program. This scrutiny concentrates the initiative actions in the Turkish economy before and after the Program. It also evaluates the long-term reflections of strategic codes which were enacted in line with the Program. The projects to which the Treasure has recently vouched or guaranteed are charged on the Budget in long-term. However, the public finance system has been reorganized after the such efforts that the Government made. While the foreign debts were on the public sector before the Program, the private sector has been subjected to the foreign exchange assets during and thereafter. İn the last months of 2018, Turkish economy is occupied by foreign debts amount of nearly the half of the GDP. Meanwhile, it could be observed that legislature regarding sugar and tobacco that were enacted based the agreement with IMF, has negative effects on the field of agriculture such as decreased productivity and unemployment. Interpreting the growth, inflation and unemployment data, we could easily bring forward that the Turkish economy has been recently facing to high-inflation, double-digit unemployment rates and low growth rates, although there have been some positive steps after the Program.
