Educational values and Turkish in Mantıq al-Tayr of Gülşehrî

The purpose of this research is to find the messages in Mantıq al-Tayr which is translated by Gülşehrî; to find out the educational values in the book and investigate the use of Turkish language when transferring these values. In this study; descriptive screening model is used, the book is summarized, 110 texts of the book in different titles are divided to episodes and the values aimed to tell for each text are found and all values in the book are investigated in three titles which are "Religious and Mystical Values", "Values that Adviced to Adopt" and "the Points Adviced to Avoid." At the last part of the study the vision of Gülşehrî about language and Turkish is aimed to propose; for this purpose couplets projecting this vision are aligned and interpreted. The names, verbs, reiteratives, idioms, proverbs, verses, traditions and Arabic phrases are grouped and vocabulary of the book is introduced for determination of language materials. In this study which is in the values education universe and sampling by educational values in Gülşehrî's Mantıq al-Tayr hopefully will be helpful for Turkish and values education.
