Özet (EN)

Microfacies investigations of Jurassic-Lower Cretaceous Limestones in Gümüşhane and Bayburt Areas This study, aims to investigate the microfacies features of the Berdiga Formation (NE Turkey) based on measured stratigraphical sections, composed totally of carbonates and covering large areas. The samples collected from the measured stratigraphical sections in the Gümüşhane region indicates that the Berdiga Formation is composed mainly of dolomitic carbonaceous rocks and that the dolomites are of varying types such as microcrystalline, idiotopic-S and xenotopic-A The Kuşakkaya measured stratigraphical sections contain a few limestone, samples at its upper most section. Dolomites are of xenotopic-A, idiotopic-S and idiotopic- C types. The section measured at the Salıntaşı Tepe contains a 53 thick limestone zone. These limestones are mainly grainstone with same interbeds of packstone. Dolomites of thin section are of microcrystalline, idiotopic-C, idiotopic-S, xenotopic-A and idiotopic-E types. The sections measured in the Bayburt (Karagelinler Tepe) region contains dolomitic limestones, recrystallized limestones and limestones. Dolomites with idiotopic-E, xenotopic-A and idiotopic-C features are located at the lower most zone of the sections. All studied measured stratigraphical sections show signs of diagenetically developed silicification, calcification and stilolitisation. Key Words: Berdiga Formation, Limestone, Dolomite, Microfacies.
