Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the impact of stress levels on job satisfaction among nurses working at Gümüşhane State Hospital. The universe of the cross-sectional and descriptive study consisted of nurses (n=182) working at Gümüşhane State Hospital between October-November 2023. The entire universe was reached without using any sampling method. The data of the study were collected through a questionnaire comprising questions on sociodemographic characteristics, work-related risks and hazards, health status, and working conditions of nurses, as well as the "Beck Anxiety Scale" and the "Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale." The questionnaire was administered under direct observation for approximately 20 minutes during individuals' rest hours. Frequency, student t-test, One-way ANOVA, Tukey test, and Pearson correlation analysis were used for statistical analysis of the data. It was found that the anxiety and job satisfaction levels of the nurses included in the study were low, while the internal and external job satisfaction dimensions were moderate. Nurses with any psychological disorder experienced more anxiety but had higher job satisfaction. It was determined that male, older, regularly eating, not experiencing sleep problems, undergoing regular health check-ups, working day shifts, and working 40 hours per week had higher job satisfaction. As the weekly working hours of nurses increased, their job satisfaction decreased. As the sleep duration of nurses increased, their job satisfaction also increased.
