Abstract (EN)
The thesis which aims to analyse the migration experiences, settlement process and living practices of the Syrian migrants who emigrated to Sakarya, Turkey in the aftermath of the civil war in their country with special reference to the sociology of everyday life focuses on the tactics and forms of resistance that they have developed against the strategies imposed on them in order to hold on to life in their new locations. In this context, everything that is routinely connected in daily life, from nutritional practices of the individual to clothing style, from entertainment to the business life, has been analyzed within the scope of this research. In doing so, the concepts of Michel de Certeau, which brought a new breath to the sociology of everyday life, were used. While there are many different approaches and theorists in everyday life sociology, the reason why Certeau is preferred is that he does not overpower the individual vis-a-vis the social structure. The importance of this study is due to the fact that focuses more on micro-level studies rather than macro narratives dependent on the large-scale theories on international migration studies. Therefore, three basic data collection techniques were used in this study. A total of 16 people were interviewed by using snowball sampling technique. As a result of the data collection process, the data obtained from the field study are analysed under these main titles: "Syrian Experiences of Migration and Their First Impressions in Sakarya", "Being Out of Line and Becoming Other", "Types of Separation", "Small Scale Resistance Areas in Everyday Life" and "Tactics as Art of Resistance of the Weak".
