THE EXPERIMENTAL EXAMINATION OF COLLECTORS WITHCURCILAR PIPES AND ELIPTIC PIPES COMPARATIUELY IN SOLARENERGY(M.Sc. Thesis)GAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYDecember 2005ABSTRACTIn this study , the experimental examination of the pipes used in plane surfacedcollectors which are very popular both in our country and in the world bychancing its shape has been done .For this reason two types of systems areformed which have same features except the collector pipe shapes. In one of thesystems a classical curcilar section pipe is used and on the other eliptic pipeswhich were shaped under heat and pressure are used. A ten days experimentshave been done with these two systems under the same conditions. According tothe results of these experiments, it is seen that the productivity of eliptic pipesused collector is 46,34% and the productivity of curcilar section used collectoris 43,84% Due to the results using the eliptic pipes will increase the productivity5,7 %, rather than curcilar section pipes while manufacturing the collectors.Science Code : 708. 3.015Key Words : Solar energy ,collector ,natural circulation, indirect system, performancePage Number : 72Adviser :Assoc.Prof.Kurtuluş BORAN
