Abstract (EN)

Solar Energy is a significant renewable energy resource which should be spread and developed broadly. It has lots of advantages such as simple spreadable and potential use compared to other renewable energy resources. In the first section of this thesis, the main aim is explained and general perspective of solar energy is stated. In the second section, renewable energy resources have been determined and negative effects of fossil fuels on environment have been clarified. The importance of sustainable renewable energy is also emphasized. It is clearly analyzed and found that under which conditions the investment of solar energy plant will be a right choice in Turkey. In the third section, it is aimed to choose the best location for solar energy plants by using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique. This is the one of the most effective techniques for dealing with complex decision making problems. In the case study, three different alternative investment sites have been determined and the criterions which affect the decision of the investment site have been revealed. These alternatives were evaluated by three experts in the industry and the best location is selected by AHP. The consequences were interpreted towards scientific values and Turkey's strategic goals.
