Abstract (EN)

Increase in human population, developments in the industry and rapid changes in technology and as a result of these depletion of fossil fuels within 50 years, increased interest in renewable energy sources. Sun is the most important renewable energy source of our world. For this reason, studies of solar energy are increasing every day. In this thesis, considering the increasing needs of people on portable electronic devices in parallel with the developments in technology, an enviromentally friendly charging system, working independently of power grid and turning solar energy into electrical energy to use on the devices such as mobile phones, mp3 players, portable radio equipments was designed. System consists of solar panel, charge control units and the batteries. Solar panel converts solar energy into electricity in D.C. Batteries are also placed in the system to be used when the sun is inadequate or absent. Charge Control Units prevent batteries over-full discharge and keep a fixed voltage value. System is experimentally investigated and photographed.Key Words : Solar cell, renewable energy, charge control unit
