Abstract (EN)
Globalization, population growth, technological developments, depletion of resources, harmful environmental effects by fossil fuels and increasing energy demand have led the whole world to use renewable energy resources. When the energy efficiency increment, decreased cost of capital, maintenance and environmental impact and high potential of Turkey have considered, the importance of solar energy has increased recently. The purpose of this study is to investigate the use of passive, active and both active and passive systems together in buildings and to examine the use of both systems with examples from all around the world. In this study, theses, journals, articles, reports, publications of official institutions and internet resources were used by using literature review method. 12 examples of buildings where active and passive systems are used have been examined and compared in terms of architectural features, energy production and system components. In conclusion, it has been observed that the combination of PV components and solar thermal systems, especially natural ventilation, can be developed as essential parts of building envelope, providing clean energy production and aesthetic appearance. It has been determined that construction costs can be reduced with the integration of these hybrid systems which have high technical and aesthetics performance. In addition, in accordance with the preferences of the designers, it has been determined that an architectural form integrated with other building elements can be created. In designing process of these different forms, different design and production arrangements should be suggested according to the size and location, color, texture, material and module components of the hybrid systems.
