Abstract (EN)
This research conducted to determining botanical and agronomical characteristics on some local genotypes of lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.) collected from South and Southeastern Anatolian Regions during growing seasons of 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 in KSU, Faculty of Agriculture, Field Crops Department experimental area. In this research, 40 lentil local genotypes and 3 lentil cultivars (Kafkas, Seyran-96, Yerli Kırmızı) were used. On the research, number of days to emergence, number of days until flowering, plant height, first pod height, the number of main branches per plant, the number of lateral branches per plant, number of plant per square meter, the number of filled-pod per plant, the number of non filled-pod per plant, number of seed per plant, seed yield per plant, 100 seed weight, seed yield and harvest index varied between 24.8-26.8 days, 142.3-156.3 days, 31.3-44.0 cm, 18.8-27.1 cm, 2.12-2.66 number per plant, 0.90-1.86 number per plant, 163.8-252.1, 22.6-28.8 number per plant, 3.4-9.9 number per plant, 26.8-50.6 number per plant, 0.682-1.645 g, 2.485-3.940 g, 117.0-323.1 kg/da, 24.6%-47.7% respectively. Variation Coefficients based on two-year-average were calculated as 11.99% for plant height, 17.98% for the height of the first pod, 20.59% for the number of main branches per plant, 63.84% for the number of lateral branches per plant, 36.51 % for the number of filled-pod per plant, 71.36% for the number of non filled-pod per plant and 47.67% for the number of seed per plant. Results of the Path analyze showed that the direct effect of the height of the first pod, the number of filled-pod per plant and 100 seed weight on the seed yield were found higher in comparison with the other positive impacts while the effect of the number of seed per plant was direct but negative. Key Words: Lentil, Genotype, Correlation Coefficient, Path Coefficient
