Determination of yield performance of some maize types within Ceylanpinar Agricultural Enterprise in Southeast Anatolia region

This research was conducted at the Beyazkule and Karataş locations within Ceylanpınar State Farm Directory connected to general Directory of Agricultural Enterprises in 2015 year. The experimental design was Randomized Complete Block Design with 4 replications. Twenty seven, mid-early maturing (FAO 475-600) hybrid maize varieties were used as experimental material at the research. According to the results of the research; significant differences were determined for investigated traits among the hybrid maize varieties. The values for investigated traits, changed between grain yield 819.0-1250.5 kg/da, for the number of tasseling day 46.5-60.5, plant height 210.1- 270.3 cm , grain/ear ratio % 69.45-86.48, for the moisture content in harvest % 18.53-26.18. In addition, in both location, leaf blight in the vegetative parts of certain varieties of corn was discovered between 1-2%. Significant differences were between in both Beyazkule and Karataş. The highest grain yield at Beyazkule had AS 66 1250.8 kg/da, Gariz 1251.3 kg/da, AACCEL 1240.9 kg/da, Helen 1239.3 kg/da, 71277(Mark) 1236.7 kg/da, Atlas 1230.2 kg/da, PR34N24 1224.85 kg/da ve 70820 (Mark) 1218.2 kg/da; MAS 59P 1126.8 kg/da at Karataş. The lowest grain yield in both location had Sabia variety. It can be observed that AS 66, Garız, AACCEL, Helen, 71277(Mark), Atlas, PR34N24, 70820 (Mark), MAS 59P, DKC5783 have more advantageous than the other varieties in respect of high grain yield as a second crop in Ceylanpınar conditions.
