Perıoperatıve nursıng care need for the patıents wıth gynecologıcal dıseases who apply for day surgery and meetıng these needs

This study was done cross sectional and descriptive to identify the importance of perioperative nursing care need for the patients with gynecological diseases who apply for day surgery.The research sample includes 160 women who applied to Day Surgery Department of Akdeniz University Hospital during the period of September 2009 ?June 2010. Chi-square test was applied to determine the number, percentage and whether there is significantly difference within the groups.It was found that the need on information of ?the time required to be come to the day surgery? was met at the highest level and the need on information of ?giving written documents? was met at the lowest level. In the care of discharge patient, the need which are ?bathing time?, ?problems occurred at home and the place to be applied in case of emergency situations? were met as the percentage of 96.3. The need which is the side effects of medicines and medicine side effects were not met. It was found that the age, education status, marital status, profession, living area, event type and identification of health condition, to be found significance of case care need, the situation of being met the needs and specifying which member of health team met these needs were determined as statistically significant variables.Consequently, it was determined that nearly all perioperative care needs of patients undergone to the application of gynecological surgery is important for the patients and most of these needs were met by the physicians and nurses.
