Janusz Korczak, inspiration for today's children's rights and children's rights

This thesis is an evaluation of Polish paediatrician Dr. Janusz Korczak's ideas about children and children's rights. The thesis discusses Korczak's experiences and his ideas about children, in particular the idea of the child's right to respect, in terms of their impact on children's rights today. Korczak was one of the first to consider the fundamental principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child: the right to life, the right to development, the best interests of the child, and the right to participate, at the beginning of the twentieth century, at a time when there was little work on the rights of the child. In this thesis, his work on children and children's rights is discussed in the context of his contribution to children's rights.
