Reproduction of self in today's society: Physical modifications and renewed images

In this study, sociological contexts / relational codes in the background of the modification attacks directed towards the body that the human being is exposed to or consciously adopted in daily life are tried to be analyzed. Our aim is to find answers to the questions of how the human body is defined by the formative structural-social-objective elements, especially the perpetrators of the body today, what kind of perception is transformed into an object of object, and more importantly, what structural-individual factors that are not inherent to the body itself. The theoretical basis of our study is the body-oriented analysis of sociologists of everyday life such as Henri Lefebvre, Michel De Certeau and Erving Goffman and the debates that emerge on the basis of Bourdieu's structural construction. The study is a multi-dimensional study aimed at addressing the meanings of the body and bodily modifications and is supported by a field study. Our research was carried out with exploratory-sequential mixed research approach. In other words, both qualitative and quantitative research methods were used together in the research process. In our study, which will be supported by fieldwork in the sample of Malatya province, the efficiency of the body as a research object in overcoming the structure-agent dualism was also discussed.
