Abstract (EN)

This research?s general purpose is the examination of ceramic wall panels found in various areas of Ankara. The descriptive method was used in this research. The data that was obtained in this research came through the observation forms of 30 ceramic wall panels chosen as the sample.We can list the results from the observation forms used in the research as follows:In the construction of a great percentage of ceramic wall panels hand forming techniques were used; in the construction of the panels clay, clay and glass tiles along with clay and wood frames were used; in the construction of the majority of the panels only clay was used; in the panels Ankara, energy, the War of Independence and nature, as well as the tree of life were the subjects displayed. In the composition of the ceramic wall panels it was determined that generally animal figures and plant motifs were also used.On the ceramic wall panel?s birds, the Ankara cat and cow figures were used. Among the bird motifs the double headed eagle representing the Seljuk state was found. On the panels generally animal figures representing Ankara were preferred; in the compositions mostly brown, after that in order blue, green, black and white colors were used.Based on these results from the past to the present the transfer of motif and form has been very great.Key terms: ceramic, panel, ceramic wall panel
