vDEVELOPING A SECURE, ERROR CORRECTIONAL AND DIGITALLYSIGNATURED PROTOCOL(M.Sc. Thesis)A.Çağrı BÖLÜCEKGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYDecember 2005ABSTRACTTechnological developments have always brought some troubles and needingswith it. Today, the electronic devices which from using in the houses toindustrial or military purposes have too many solutions that makes the usage, easier in much manner. There are some needings that should get in count during such progressesbecause of to prevent the information in communication from third persons. Inthis working, the main aim is to present a structure that can be a model of sucha needing. The cryptographic algorithms that have been developing for years are a basicfor the protocol which is especially planned for control based system targetingapplications. For this reason the asymmetric public key cryptograpy algorithms which areparticularly progressed last years have been investigated and one of the mostreliable public key algorithms, RSA has been decided to use in the protocol. Themodular arithmetic knowledge which used by RSA has also been presentedsuperficially.viIt has been decided to use Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 as a development platform. All needed fuctions have been fully implemented without using any predefinedclass or library and compiled in a MFC project.Science Code : 926Key Words : Protocol, cryptography, authentication, error detection, c++Page Number : 115Adviser : Dr. Nursel AKÇAM
