Future of the European Union in the axis of security policies and NATO

The aim of this study is to determine the stages of the European Union in the process of building security policies from its foundation to the present day, to diagnose why the stability of European states in the process of economic integration and enlargement couldn't be effective in the applicability of security policies and to evaluate to what extent this process can affect the future of the European Union in the axis of security strategies of NATO and USA. It is clear that any development that could affect the security of Europe interacts with the peace and prosperity of the world at the same time. In order to constitute global peace and ensure that people live in peace and security, all member states must make maximum contribution, and despite the geostrategic differences, the necessity to struggle together with international organizations and states such as NATO and USA has emerged. Based upon the idea that security is one of the most basic needs of people, it is considered that the most important factor that will determine the future of the European Union is the establishment of security policies as to the purpose and ensuring that these policies are implemented with a global consensus. In this study, it was reached that the cooperation with NATO in ensuring the sustainability of the European Union's security policies was a strong response to the threat of peace, and at this stage, while the Union decided on how to organize itself in defence and security matters, NATO maintained its basic building block function in defending the countries of the Union.
