Abstract (EN)
It is thought that it is important for art education that individuals who receive art education can benefit from today's technologies, use the benefits of these technologies in the design processes and realize the design possibilities experimentally. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate how students studying in the department of art education can express themselves in the digital three-dimensional environment within the scope of the elective art graphic workshop course, how they can gain third-dimensional awareness to design studies and how the studies can affect their third-dimensional perceptions and visual spatial development. The research was carried out with 11 students who chose the "Elective Art Workshop Graphic Design I" course at Anadolu University, Department of Fine Arts Education in the fall semester of 2018-2019 academic year. The data in this study, which was created using action research; was obtained from the 12 week course process, semi-structured interviews with students, focus group interviews, student designs, researcher observations and diaries. As a result of the data obtained, three main themes were reached; "Learning Process", "Design Process" and "Visual Spatial Awareness". As a result of the findings, it was found that while students create original designs in a three-dimensional environment, various methods and situations affect their learning processes, participatory design and cooperative learning methods improve design and model design processes, and three-dimensional studies increase their visual-spatial awareness.
