Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to the correlation between the Turkish music instrument education given in the Music Departments of the High School of Fine Arts and the piano course success status. Because of this reason, a descriptive scanning model is used. The sample of the study is composed of fifty (50) students taking Turkish music instrument (baglama, zither, lute) education in the High Schools of Fine Arts which are situated in Istanbul, Bolu, Ankara, Kayseri, Konya, Kırşehir, Gaziantep, Rize and Elazığ provinces. Not only a survey application is performed but also instrument and piano course notes in the last class of the students in the last class are taken from the school directorates in order to gather required information properly. The articles taking part in the study are developed by the researcher in accordance with the suggestions of the advisers and specialized persons and the scale which is composed of fifteen (15) judgments are shaped finally to be used in the survey accordingly. The survey is arranged in two (2) chapters. The first chapter is composed of the personal information form containing six (6) questions and the second chapter is composed of nine (9) judgments. The questions which take part in the first chapter are composed of the open-end questions with options and including the personal information of the students. And the answer options of the survey questions in the second chapter are composed of the judgments such as "Very Agree", "Agree", "Less Agree" and "Disagree" according to the "Likert" scale. The data which are obtained in the study are analyzed by means of using the SPSS (Statistical Package Program for Social Science) 15.0 program. The genders, monthly household incomes and the used instrument main branches of the participants are shown in frequency and percentage tables. The fourth class Turkish Music grades, fourth class Piano grades and the four-year General Success grades and standard deviation are indicated by means of descriptive statistics. After that, these items are shown in table and the necessary explanations and comments are made. As a result of the study carried out, it is determined and concluded that the Turkish music instrument education provided in the music departments of the Anatolian fine arts schools which are included in the coverage of the study is sufficient with regard to content but insufficient with regard to period of time, there is a positive correlation between the Turkish music instrument education and piano course, the instrument education has a positive contribution and influence on the piano usage and academic averages and the gender and household income issue does not have any influence on the piano course but the type of instrument is influential on that regard.
