The effect of literary expression in expressionist paintings of fine arts high school students

This research was carried out to determine whether or not the effect of literary expression on expressionist paintings of fine arts high school students; If any, it has been done in order to determine it's level. The research is limited to the genre of "memoir" in literature as a literary expression type, and oil paint as an application technique. The research group of the study consisted of 18 students from Giresun Fine Arts High School, 12th grade. In the research, single-subject pre-test-post-test experimental design, one of the quantitative research methods and theme analysis under the content analysis subheading of qualitative research methods were used. The data collection tools are the rubric, theme analysis and literature review used in evaluating the pre-test and post-test paintings made within the scope of expressionism. Data in data collection tools; It was evaluated as "SPSS" analysis and percentage frequency analysis. According to the data obtained from the research, one-subject pre-test - post-test experimental design one of the quantitative research methods in the test scores evaluated by three art educator field experts; Although there was a difference in favor of the post-test in the Color and Shape criteria, this did not create a significant difference but a significant difference has emerged in terms of Composition, Creativity and Effective Expression criterias. According to the percentage-frequency result of the theme analysis, which is one of the qualitative studies, it was concluded that both the memoirs written by the students and the posttest paintings were correlated with each other in terms of negative emotion categories and the comparison of the paintings between the pretest and posttest according to the emotion categories created a significant difference in favor of the posttest as negative emotion density has been reached.
