Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of 4MAT teaching model on the teaching-learning process of two dimensions art work classes in fine arts and sports high schools. The method of the study is modeled in the form of action research and quasi-experimental design, so it is aimed to create a process oriented point of view. Typical case sample was preferred in this study and it was carried out with 9th class students' IIDAW of a fine arts high school and the ones who were at arts classes of a sports high school. For the size of quasi-experimental design of the study, after the studies that were carried out for equivalence of the groups; 16 9th class students were included under the names of control group (n=8) and experimental group (n=8). The application (practice) process consists of fourteen weeks. The data were gathered from records of observations, interviews and portfolio. In order to make comparisons between experimental and control groups, self assessment writings and the data obtained from artistic practices were used. Data collection instruments (video display control charts, worksheets, self evaluation forms and scoring keys) were developed by the researcher and their validity was provided in accordance with the experts. The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis and content analysis. At different stages of the process of data analysis, the reliability was provided by consulting the assistance of five experts. As a result of the study, it has been determined that each learning task within the framework of the educational model has provided new opportunities to the student, offered alternative solutions to the student so as to fulfill the learning and by enriching the learning environment. Furthermore, when two groups are compared; it can be stated that students in experimental group displayed development in expressing their cognitive knowledge, integrating their cognitive knowledge with practice ability, and their inclination towards learning products. In the light of the above mentioned benefits, it can be concluded that 4MAT teaching model is available in IIDAW classes. In this context, it is thought that applying the model will be useful not only for 9th classes but also for other class levels with a good planning.
