Abstract (EN)
In this study, information about the heat pipes used on the satellites was given. Starting from the first proposal of the heat pipe, the heat pipe defination was defined, its structure and its working patterns was explained. The thermal calculations of the heat pipes were explained with an example, also the studies of leading manufacturer of satellites were given with examples.Study was mainly based on literature review. In the second section, following the explanation of the fundamental parts of the heat pipe, the types of the heat pipe was explained. In the third section, the use of heat pipes for space application, the use of the satellite manufacturers? heat pipes and the performance of the heat pipes were given as information. In this section, the types of the manufacturing and the problem encountered in the process of manufacturing were mentioned. In order to manufacture the high performance heat pipe, it was mentioned which programs needed to be worked on. In the fourth section, how to be done the mathematical model of the heat pipe was explained and it was supported with the numerical example. Then thermal interaction between the heat pipe radiator and a coolant fluid header was explained with the numerical examples. In the fifth section, thermal design of the heat pipe used in a communication satellite was given an example.
