An educational view to the philosophy of Haci Bektaş Veli

Hacı Bektaş Veli, who is one of the important philosopher of Anatolia, contributed enormously to the education of society in the period he lived. In this research, it is aimed to reveal the thoughts of Hacı Bektaş Veli about the education of people and it is tried to make an evaluation about this subject in terms of ethno-pedagogy. In this study, quality research model was used and data was obtained by searching the documents. The works of Hacı Bektaş Veli such as Makâlât, Kitâbü'l Fevâid, Makâlât-ı Gaybiyye Kelimât-ı Ayniyye and Emânet-i Hazreti Pir were handled within the scope of this investigation. The data about the education gained from these works was categorized in three ways; the general approach of Hacı Bektaş Veli towards the education, educational principles he adopted and education programme involved in his discipline. As a result of the research, it was seen that Hacı Bektaş Veli had a humanistic education understanding that involved moral values, he gave importance to wisdom and science very much, he adopted individual differences, equality, loyalty of the guide and gradual education. He used verses, stories, poems and aphorism while he brought in the goals that he specified in ''Four ways forty positions''. It was also understood that his education method was traditional which was based on speaking. As Hacı Bektaş Veli is an important value in Turkish culture, it is thought that if his thoughts are understood in a correct way, they will contribute to national education politics positively.
